Art Director/Photographer


About the Role:

We’re looking for a Chicago-based Digital Designer/Photographer with a wide variety of skills to elevate our brand’s visual style in marketing materials, digital web assets, client presentations, and other documents. The ideal person will have a strong background in design concepts, e-commerce, and digital advertising across desktop and mobile platforms. This role covers B2B and B2C content, requiring creative and strategic thinking to connect our unique messages to our audiences and tell meaningful stories. Approximately 25% of the role will include studio, catalog, and digital photography for our gifts and social media channels. As the primary design staffer on the digital marketing team, you will also manage creative projects and timelines in alignment with campaigns. To be successful, you must be highly organized and bring leadership skills to the table.

  • Lead the creative development and execution of our digital assets in collaboration with the marketing team
  • Bring ideas to the table that elevate our ability to delight and connect with clients
  • Drive conceptual and stylistic direction in partnership with the Digital Marketing Director
  • Create digital pieces for campaigns, which may include web, email, social, display ads, sell sheets, infographics, catalogues, digital graphics, and possibly light animation content
  • Create designs that remain brand-cohesive across channels (social, email, web, etc.)
  • Consistently deliver on-time, quality, well-scoped work
  • Work on and alongside the marketing team to conceptualize visuals based on user targeting and other requirements
  • Plan and execute photo shoots
  • Bring a love of discovery to the job to understand our industry and keep our visual brand evolving
  • Prepare drafts and present visual concepts
  • Test graphics across various media to ensure proper rendering across platforms
  • Create design templates for lead generation collateral (e-books, whitepapers, case studies)
  • Develop creative solutions that help us meet our goals



  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 3+ years relevant experience
  • Experience working in a CMS, DAM, or with editorial-style workflows
  • Highly organized, with experience managing concurrent projects
  • Understanding of key design principles and elements
  • Expertise in visual elements such as layouts, color palettes, and typography
  • Strong ability to translate requirements into design
  • Acute visual sense of brand and style
  • Self-directed and able to establish timeframes and budgets where needed
  • Expert-level proficiency designing in Illustrator and InDesign or similar
  • Expert level proficiency with photo retouching
  • Mid-level proficiency in Google Slides
  • Mid-level proficiency in DSLR product photography
  • Always looking for creative ways to connect with users and drive engagement
  • Basic knowledge of HTML for email design
  • Attention to detail and consistency, from file organization to your creative work
  • Be an active and supportive collaborator on our mission to create social impact
  • Current U.S. work authorization



  • Experience in both B2C (specifically e-commerce) and B2B marketing preferred
  • Motion design experience in After Effects or similar
  • Illustration skills
  • Comfort using data for decision-making
  • Website landing page design experience
