Friendship Bakery is a project of The Friendship Circle of Wisconsin, a division of Lubavitch of Wisconsin. Friendship Bakery was started with the goal of addressing the vocational gap that occurs for high school graduates with disabilities. Guided by elite pastry chef Dina Menzl Russo, participants in the program contribute to the business in a meaningful way and learn vocational skills while building self-esteem and earning an income to grant further independence. From baking and creating the delicious kosher-certified desserts to packaging and delivering the finished products, the Friendship Bakery students graduate with vocational and social skills designed to carry them into independent adult employment.
