Rebuilding Exchange brings a wonderful, socially conscious approach to the reclamation of building materials by diverting otherwise usable materials from landfills, while developing job skills for individuals who otherwise struggle to find employment. The organization teaches valuable skills in the fields of deconstruction, materials management and warehousing, all while creating jobs for those in need. Reclaimed building materials are either sold or repurposed as unique consumer goods by those individuals learning valuable carpentry skills. Since its inception in 2009, Rebuilding Exchange has brought more than $2 million worth of reuse-ready materials to market and saved nearly 10,000 tons of building materials from landfills.
Packed with Purpose offers a selection of beautiful Rebuilding Exchange products, including ash and walnut serving boards, (food-safe and finished in all-natural walnut oil), and an exclusive co-designed honey dipper, among other goods. Every Rebuilding Exchange item comes with its own story, a promise of sustainable materials, and a brighter future for the individuals who make each product.
