Inspired by the radiant Monarch butterfly, La Monarca Bakery & Cafe was created from the minds and hearts of two friends, Alfredo and Ricardo, who grew up eating Pan Dulce pastries in their hometown in Mexico. In opening their first bakery in 2006, they have been spreading the love and joy of Mexican pastries all over L.A., incorporating the sweet flavor of Mexico. They make each batch of pastries with authentic recipes and all-natural fresh ingredients without the use of lard or artificial preservatives.
This Latino-owned business donates 1% of their proceeds to ECOLIFE Conservation in Michoacan, Mexico to support the protection and preservation of Monarch butterflies.
