A Vermont-based B Corp, Lake Champlain Chocolates was founded in 1983 on a dare. When Jim Lampman, then owner of Ice House Restaurant, gave his employees a holiday gift of chocolate, one of them mentioned that it was mediocre-tasting. Lampman challenged him to create something better and Lake Champlain Chocolates was born.
Focused on people, planet and profits, Lake Champlain Chocolates strives to create positive change in the world by sourcing fair trade chocolate, local honey and maple syrup, and committing to environmental responsibility. They also donate 7-10% of their pre-tax profits to nonprofit organizations every year. Each creamy, hand-rolled delight is creating a positive impact in local and global communities.
